The water source was an impoundment in
a dam, which was polluted by sewage from upstream habitation.
The existing WTP had clariflocculator and rapid sand
filter and was unable to handle this water source, which
was having algae growth and the WTP was shut down for
3 years between 2000-2003. M/S CEC studied the situation
rehabilitated the WTP by converting to high Lime and
carbonation and yielded water certified by the state
health authority and accepted by the local public in
2004 |

The assignment started in December 2003

In a place where groundwater is at
300 m depth, drinking water was given to the public
after three years of tormenting sufferings without
it.
