Results

The study identified the distinct possibility of taking in the nearby city sewage to the extent required and its treatment to yield a clear, odourless and pathogen free water of uniform quality of water as against drawing underground water from nearby river basin which is not perennial and which has a very shallow aquifer of limited depth.

The forecast results of sewage renovation are as under:
Parameters BOD COD pH TDS Colour Odour SS
Raw effluent 200 / 300 350 / 500 7.3 / 7.9 700 / 1400 Light Grey Sewage 400 / 600
Treated effluent nil 20 / 30 Neutral <400 nil nil nil

The proposal is likely to open new Vistas of sewage reuse prospects in this region and avoid second grade use of a first grade fresh water
